Danilo De Berardinis returns to the People’s Poker Tour for its 36th edition scheduled from June 25 to 30 at King's Resort in Rozvadov with a guaranteed prize pool of €1 million.
The People’s Poker Tour returns for its 36th edition to continue making history in European live gaming, featuring a guaranteed €1 million prize pool. The €500 buy-in live tournament by Microgame, held at King's Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, in collaboration with Euro Rounders (here is the full schedule!), will include a new figure joining the efficient and established team led by Federico Brunato.
Danilo De Berardinis, a historic figure in Italian and European live poker with extensive experience in tournament management, organization, and training, explains his new role at the People’s Poker Tour: "I will take on the role of Special Tournament Supervisor at the upcoming People’s Poker Tour, returning to Rozvadov," De Berardinis says. "This decision naturally stems from various factors: firstly, my longstanding friendship with Antony Angeloni, CEO of Euro Rounders, whom I sincerely thank for this opportunity. Secondly, my historical connection with PPT and the Microgame network, with whom I've shared many experiences. I'm thrilled to rejoin this project, marking a significant part of my career."
You have been part of the event’s history. Can you tell us what the PPT means to you? "The PPT has been a constant in my professional journey. Over the last ten years, I’ve served as Tournament Director, experiencing all its changes. I clearly remember my first Main Event with a €1650 buy-in; those were the legendary days of live broadcasts by Ivan Fantasia, with whom I developed a sincere friendship—he still tolerates me today at Stanleybet," Danilo jokes. "The format has evolved over time, adjusting to the market, from €1100 to €550 buy-ins, and now we enter a new era with major guarantees. Each phase has created valuable memories, both technically and personally. From players to ambassadors, PPT has always been full of emotions and stories."
In the gaming world, you have a multifaceted profile: live poker, training, and consulting for gaming companies. How would you summarize your journey, especially given your return to PPT? "My journey in gaming started in 2008 in the UK as a croupier in traditional games. Transitioning to poker was natural: dealer, floor manager, tournament director. Training has always been a true passion, which I pursue today with Alessandra Cravero (pictured with De Berardinis), my best friend and wife. Ludos Academy, founded over eight years ago, is our creation. We provide comprehensive casino staff training, along with consulting for live poker and casino event management. Over the years, we've collaborated with significant European entities, often renewing these partnerships—a clear sign of trust and appreciation. Currently, we're involved in training the poker team at Casino Campione d'Italia, thanks to Pagano Events and PokerStars. Reuniting with Antony Angeloni in this journey is immensely satisfying, as I deeply admire his work and Euro Rounders' continuous growth."
What's your opinion on the live poker industry, which continues growing from post-pandemic to today? "Live poker is experiencing a golden age, boosted by post-Covid recovery—I agree. Unlike online poker, which quickly regained balance, live poker keeps expanding. Many expected numbers to drop, but that hasn’t happened yet. Credit goes to organizers who focus increasingly on player needs, offering innovative and engaging formats. Today, player experience is central: casinos and operators understand the importance of offering more than just a tournament. Euro Rounders and King’s Casino in Rozvadov are excellent examples of creating a high-level offer that attracts and retains an ever-growing audience," concluded Danilo De Berardinis.
